From Street Art…
… to Urban Contemporary Art
Street Art in celebration.
EDITO #84 | August – September 2025
The sun is shining, and the festival and exhibition season is in full swing. For Street Art lovers, the summer holds many flavourful and hot destinations, from the Boulogne-sur-Mer Street Art Festival to Parenthèses Urbaines (Roissy-en-Brie) via Poésie Urbaine (Grasse), Shake Art (Saint-Brieuc), the Grimaud Festival, the Georges Mathieu Exhibition (Paris), Zoo Art (Paris)…
If you have the soul of an explorer, our Sacred Urbex! feature delves into the real and fantastic world of abandoned places of worship, transformed into canvases for graffiti and street artists who magnify both raw and sophisticated architectures.
Graffiti serves as both a starting point, an inspiration, and a common thread. Born from graffiti, T-KID 170 is a pioneer of wildstyle who transitioned from the streets to galleries; Myk CBS has been navigating the various facets of graffiti for four decades, always staying close to the streets; and Colorz, influenced by graffiti, gradually distances himself from it to embrace abstraction. Other artists develop styles that are further removed from graffiti, such as Mara, who turned his crossed-face character into a signature, and Teurk, who brings to life the magnetic mechanics of fluids.
Finally, we’ll soon be launching the 2025 edition of the Urban Contemporary Art Guide. Keep an eye on your inbox.
The show must go on.
